Community update: Nuvision honored over 700 veterans with $25 gas cards in November, raised $11,000 for food pantries, and will host holiday toy drives in December

It’s been a busy couple of months at Nuvision. We’ve raised $11,000 for food pantries in Alaska, gave over 700 veterans $25 gas cards across all markets, and hosted a number of lunches and events to thank the local military. Now, it’s about to get even busier! As we enter the holiday season, our efforts to serve the community are ramping up. Between toy drives and other holiday festivities, we’re excited to continue investing in the neighborhoods we serve. Here’s a recap of what we’ve been up to during the past few months and a glance at what’s coming this December:
Kirsten Baron

Nuvision Heroes: A business owner committed to helping young adults and families become financially free

the LA Department of Children and Family Services, she now works full-time in the financial services industry, where she and her husband have built a practice helping families strengthen their financial futures and mentoring agents who want to make a living as business owners. For years, she’s partnered with us to lead financial workshops for high school students across Southern California. That, along with her commitment to community service, is why we choose Kirsten for this month’s Nuvision Hero.

Nuvision Heroes 911

Nuvision Heroes: A former LAFD fireman, Vietnam war veteran, and 9/11 responder selflessly dedicated to the safety of his community

Dave Badgett is a former fireman, Vietnam war veteran, Naval Postgraduate School instructor, and public safety consultant. He was also one of the leaders of a Los Angeles Fire Department specialty team flown across the country to respond to the 9/11 attacks. In his 32 years with the LAFD facing high-rise fires, shootings, riots, brushfires, and airplane crashes, nothing compared to those days spent in New York. For his courage and lifelong dedication to public safety, we are honoring Dave as a Nuvision hero.
