Nuvision Honors Our Heroes: Veterans Day 2025 Event Recap

Nov 24, 2025, 23:38 PM by Nuvision

For many veterans, service is a commitment that continues long after the uniform comes off—a lifelong devotion to leadership and community. This Veterans Day, Nuvision was proud to bring our teams, communities, and local heroes together across Alaska, Wyoming, and Southern California to show up for our veterans.

Veterans Day

Servings Vets from Anchorage to Fairbanks

In Alaska, we focused on direct support and community connection across the state.

Alaska Veterans Day

Anchorage Luncheon: We hosted our annual Veterans Day Appreciation Luncheon alongside the American Legion Jack Henry Post 1. We were honored to welcome Anchorage Mayor Suzanne LaFrance and Greg Kaplan, Special Assistant for Military and Veterans Affairs, from Senator Lisa Murkowski's office, reinforcing our commitment to community unity. Our team served meals and, thanks to generous donations, we directly supported the Veterans Affairs of Alaska food pantry and the American Legion Post 1 family.

Continued Momentum: The next day, we proudly sponsored the annual Veterans Luncheon at the Anchorage Senior Activity Center. Our CEO, Roger Ballard, shared his appreciation, and the moving Quilts of Valor ceremony brought the real stories of service to the forefront.

Statewide Support: Across our Anchorage, Eagle River, Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, and Wasilla branches, we handed out free gas cards to veterans—a small but meaningful token to ease their everyday expenses.

We also supported volunteers at the Flag Retirement Ceremony hosted by American Legion Interior Alaska Post 99 at the Alaska Rangers Camp in North Pole. Local veterans and community members came together to retire worn flags with dignity and respect, and we were proud to sponsor meals for the volunteers who made the ceremony possible.

Thank you to every veteran and family member who helped us build a stronger Alaska community.

Wyoming: Cheyenne Community Cookout

Wyoming Veterans Day

In Cheyenne, our Nuvision team hosted a free BBQ luncheon for Francis E Self American Legion Post 6 as part of their annual Veterans Day ceremony.

We were honored to contribute to the Post’s Empty Stocking program, which provides crucial funds for holiday meals for Veterans . Spending the day listening to veterans, thanking them for their sacrifices, and serving alongside a community that understands dedication—that's what the day was all about.

We are grateful for our country and even more grateful for the men and women who put everything on the line to protect it.

Southern California: Celebrating Heroes and Mentoring the Next Generation

CA Veterans Day

Our Southern California team hosted the annual Veterans Day Appreciation Breakfast, bringing together veterans, community members, and local youth for a morning of connection and tribute. Every veteran who attended received a $25 gas card as a thank you.

  • Honoring This Month’s Nuvision Heroes: Nuvision volunteers served breakfast with warmth, and we took the opportunity to recognize two outstanding Nuvision Heroes—veterans Nick Saifan Jr. and Robert McClish—for their continued service and leadership within our organization. . (You can read more about their powerful stories here: Nick’s article and Robert’s article.)
  • Building Bridges Between Generations: The event was organized to help connect generations of service members. We made donations to two organizations that embody leadership and discipline: MCAS Tustin Young Marines and the Lakewood High School NJROTC.
  • The opening ceremony, guided by Jim Ghomley, Lt. Col., U.S. Army, from American Legion Huntington Beach Post 133, set the perfect tone. The highlight was a moving personal speech shared by one of the Young Marines, which "touched the entire room."

Tustin Unit Commander Jerimiah Hurn talked about how valuable the morning was: "It was heartwarming to see MCAS Tustin distributing the small pins as tokens of appreciation. It really sparked meaningful conversations between seasoned veterans and the up-and-coming leaders of tomorrow." He added that the entire event "truly elevated the experience."

This event reminded everyone that honoring our veterans isn't just about recognizing history—it's about actively building and mentoring the next generation of leaders. Check out our event photo album here on Facebook.

Thank You, Heroes

This year's Veterans Day events underscored a simple truth: the impact of service never fades. It continues through leadership, giving back, and showing up. At Nuvision, we are proud to stand alongside our veterans, their families, and the programs that help them succeed.

To all who served, all who serve, and all who support—thank you. We will continue to honor your commitment and build a stronger community together.
