NuvisionCares In Our Communities—Because Being a Member Means Being Part of Something Bigger
As we get ready to celebrate 90 years of serving our members, we’re keeping our focus where it’s always been—on the people and communities who’ve made it all possible. Through NuvisionCares, we’re working to help kids, support families, and be there when it counts.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to, what’s ahead in July -- and how you can be part of it.
Honoring a Legacy: The 3rd Annual Asher Banks Memorial Blood Drive
On June 6th, we hosted the 3rd Annual Asher Banks Memorial Blood Drive at our Anchorage Financial Center. This isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a powerful way to remember Asher and support families facing real medical challenges.
Across Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, and Wasilla, our team and members stepped up. More than 50 donors gave blood, offering potential lifesaving help when it matters most. We’re grateful to everyone who showed up to give. It means more than you know.
Feeding Hope: Bracken’s Kitchen Volunteer Day
In June, our team spent the day volunteering with Bracken’s Kitchen in Orange County—prepping and serving meals from their mobile kitchen. Their mission goes beyond food. It’s about community, dignity, and making sure people are cared for.
We’re always proud to support their work—and always leave inspired.
July is NuvisionCares Helping Kids in Our Community Month
At Nuvision, we’re dedicated to uplifting the communities we serve and building a brighter future for people and families. We’re kicking-off our annual NuvisionCares Helping Kids in Our Community Month campaign. We’re hosting a series of drives, beginning the first week in July, to collect clothing and footwear for children and teens, supporting a number of great organizations in both California and Alaska.
Boots for Confidence: Alaska’s Helping Kids Boot Drive
Alaska winters are tough—especially for kids without warm boots. We’re collecting new boots and socks to help local youth stay safe, warm, and ready for the school year.
We’ve teamed up with Anchorage Cops for Community, and there are a few easy ways to help:
- Drop off boots at our Anchorage or Eagle River branches
- Order from our Amazon Wishlist
- Or ship directly to:
Nuvision Anchorage Financial Center
ATTN: Boot Drive
440 E 36th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99503
The drive runs through July 31. Every pair makes a difference.
Clothing Drive for Robyne’s Nest
In Southern California, our Helping Kids in Our Communities campaign continues with a clothing drive for Robyne’s Nest, a nonprofit supporting at-risk and homeless students in Huntington Beach and Newport Mesa.
These teens aren’t looking for handouts—just basic clothes so they can show up to school with confidence. You can help by shopping our Amazon Wishlist, where we’ve listed the most-needed items.
Bay Area Support: White Pony Express Clothing Drive
In the Bay Area, we’ve partnered with White Pony Express to collect new socks, underwear, and t-shirts for local families. These essentials will be distributed through their pop-up boutique, a one-of-a-kind event that gives families what they need in a setting that feels respectful and welcoming.
Donations are being accepted through August 1 at our Contra Costa branches, or through the Amazon Wishlist.
Looking Ahead
For 90 years, we’ve worked to be more than just a place to bank. And the truth is, none of this happens without our members. Every donation, every volunteer hour, every bit of support—we’re able to do this work because people like you believe in it too.
To everyone who’s helped make these efforts possible: thank you. If you haven’t had the chance yet, there’s still time. Pick a drive, pitch in, or pass the message along. Every bit helps!
