May means honoring our military: Join us at these Nuvision-sponsored Memorial Day events!
Honoring our military on Memorial Day is the most important thing we do each May. It’s a time to remember those who gave their lives to secure the freedoms we enjoy each day in America. It’s also a time to thank those still living, our veterans and current military members, for the sacrifices they make to protect us.
Each year, we host Memorial Day Gas Giveaways in each of our regions. This year, we’re hosting numerous other events as well. Check out what events are happening in your region below.
Alaska Events
Wasilla Chamber Military Appreciation Lunch on May 24th
Nuvision Alaska is a Platinum Sponsor for the Wasilla Chamber Military Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday, May 24 at Settlers Bay Golf Course. We are celebrating the past, present, and future of our Alaskan military and will have a table with a team of eight there to support this program.
Gas Card Giveaways at select branches on May 27th
Our gas card giveaway is happening again this year at the Anchorage FC, Eagle River, Fairbanks, Juneau, and Kenai branches! Active-duty military and veterans with proof of service will receive a $25 gas card on a first come, first served basis on Friday, May 27. Military heroes are encouraged to register in advance to secure their card.
Memorial Day Lunch at Kenai American Legion Post on May 30th
For the first time, we will be sponsoring the BBQ lunch for members of American Legion Post 20 in Kenai. Our team will be there to help serve meals and to give away gas cards for prizes. We are thankful and honored to be able to partner with yet another American Legion post!
Memorial Day Lunch at American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 on May 30th
Once again, we are inviting local veterans and active-duty military in Anchorage to our annual Nuvision Cares Memorial Day luncheon. Guests will enjoy live music, free BBQ, a $25 gas card, and fellowship with the military community. Our friends at American Legion Post 1 are allowing non-members to attend, so please encourage all veterans in your life to come if they can make it. Last year’s luncheon was a huge success and loved by everyone who came!
Wyoming Events
Nuvision is sponsoring Military May for the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, an initiative designed to build ties between the business community and local military. We’ll be involved in these two exciting events.
Military May Luncheon on May 6th
To kick off the month, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce will present Cheyenne Trophy Awards to military squadrons for excellence in achieving their mission. Major General Lutton will be our guest speaker for this event. Nuvision is the main sponsor for this event at American Legion Post 6, and our Chief Member Experience Officer, Cathy Dominguez, will be there to speak on our community efforts and commitment to veterans.
Military Appreciation BBQ on May 21st
Nuvision is the primary sponsor for the annual Military Appreciation BBQ at High West Energy. To honor the men and women who serve our country, all veterans, active-duty military members, and the families who serves alongside them are invited to this free event. Guests will enjoy face painting, games, raffle prizes, and fun with their community.
Nuvision is donating funds alongside High West Energy to supply the items needed for this BBQ. We also will have a team of volunteers helping set-up and serve these families.
California Events
Memorial Day Gas Giveaway on May 30th
We’re hosting our annual gas giveaway in Costa Mesa this year for the first time! It’s also the first time since 2019 our volunteers will be physically welcoming cars and hand-pumping gas.
Active-duty military members and veterans are invited to join us for a free tank-fill up anytime from 8:00—10:00 am. Click here for more information.
Nurses Week Lunch at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital on 5/12
To thank our local hospital and their nurses, we are participating in Nurse’s Week by hosting an appreciation lunch at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 12th.
Our Fountain Valley branch and mortgage team will be there to say thank you. We can’t wait to show our appreciation!
