Nuvision Merger with Greater Wyoming Federal Credit Union Enthusiastically Approved by Members

At the beginning of this month, Nuvision entered a merger with Greater Wyoming Federal Credit Union in Cheyenne. After talking to leadership and members at Greater Wyoming, it became clear that we shared many goals and would able to better serve the community through this partnership. This merger will enable Nuvision to serve 2,000 additional members in the region and to add a third branch in Wyoming.

The GWFCU members who showed up to vote were enthusiastic about the future, voting decisively to approve the decision. Laurie Morgan, who hosted the meeting and is a long time Greater Wyoming member, mentioned that all the members she had talked to were excited to see this merger happen. “This is great for our members!” she said.

Greater Wyoming has a long history of serving its community. Originally chartered in 1953 to serve the Wyoming Employment Security Commission, the credit union later changed names and expanded its charter to extend membership to all who reside in Natrona or Converse County. Since then, providing quality service and a place for people to belong has been central to their mission.

Their single branch is seated in the heart of Downtown Casper, making them a valuable local institution and providing many opportunities to grow along with the popular downtown area. Like Nuvision, Greater Wyoming works tirelessly in community outreach. Employees frequently volunteer time with local non-profits. Their longest partnership is with Jason’s Friends Foundation, which supports Wyoming families with children (aged birth – 20 years old) who battle cancer. Through this merger, we hope to continue helping non-profits GWFCU currently works with while expanding services to others throughout the area.

We cannot wait to officially welcome Greater Wyoming on January 1st, 2021 when they legally become a part of the Nuvision family. This merger has been in the works for a significant part of 2020, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been selected by the GWFCU team as their merger partner. It has been a bright spot in a long and difficult year.

The GWFCU branch will be fully operational as a Nuvision branch by late spring of 2021. We look forward to offering new products, capabilities, and community support to more members in our Wyoming market.
