Food, freebies, and events for service members on Veteran's Day
Veteran’s day is coming up, which means many places around the community are thanking military personnel for all they do for our country with giveaways. Nuvision will be hosting a gas giveaway at the G&M Gas Station in Huntington Beach. There are also other places hosting discounts, events, and freebies you won’t want to miss out on. Free food
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
Come enjoy a sweet treat at Menchie’s! They’ll be giving military personnel the first six ounces of frozen yogurt free when they show proof of service at purchase.
Mimi’s Bistro & Bakery
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
Veterans and active military will receive a free breakfast, lunch, or dinner with the purchase of a beverage. Options include Brioche French Toast, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Buttermilk Griddlecakes, and more.
Little Caesars
Availability date: November 11th, 2019 from 11 am – 2 pm
Free HOT-N-READY lunch combos will be available for veterans presenting proof of service.
Wienerschnitzel
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
Feeling like a classic American hot dog? Guests with a military uniform or ID will be treated to a free Chili Dog, Small Fries, and Small Pepsi.
Applebee’s
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
For the 12th year, Applebee’s will be serving free meals to active military and veterans. Options include the classic bacon cheeseburger, chicken tenders platter, oriental chicken salad, and many more.
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
Military personnel who dine in on Veteran’s day will receive a free entrée up to $14.95. They’ll also be given a free Dr. Pepper.
California Pizza Kitchen
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
Veterans and active military are invited to select a free beverage and entrée when dining in and presenting valid proof of service.
Chili’s
Availability date: November 11th, 2019
Military personnel can receive the free entrée of their choice. All they have to do is stop by on Veteran’s day with proof of service.
Free services
Free Car Checks from Goodyear
Availability date: November 11th – 16th, 2019
Veterans can receive a free car check which includes an assessment of tires, brakes, alignment, shocks and struts, battery, and wiper blade. It also includes free installation on any tire purchases. Appointments must be made by November 11th.
Free fun
Knott’s Berry Farm
Availability date: November 3rd – 21st and December 2nd – 19th, 2019
During Knott’s Berry Farms Military Tribute Days, military personnel will be admitted into the park for free, along with one guest. Just show Military ID at the main gate.
Aquarium of the Pacific
Availability date: November 11th, 2019 from 9 am – 6 pm
Guests showing proof of service at the ticket window will be admitted to the museum for free. Friends and family who visit with service members can also receive discounts during the month of November.
Pirates Dinner Adventure
Availability date: November 10th –11th, 2019
When mentioning the code PDAVET19, military personnel with valid proof of service will receive free admission to the night’s show. Guests of service members can also receive a discount.
Free events
Veterans Day Commemoration at the Nixon Museum
Date: November 11th at 11 am
Military members will be honored at a special celebration in the Nixon Presidential Library East Room. Colors will be presented by Troy HS JROTC, and the national anthem will be sung by the Air Force Blue Eagles Honor Guard. The main program will be a conversation between Col. Wayne Scott, USAF, Ret., WWII veterans, and others.
Veterans + Labor Community Celebration at OC Fair and Event Center
Date: November 9th from 10 am – 2 pm
This free celebration is open to all on Veterans day. There will be free hot dogs, family activities, entertainment, and a resource fair for veterans. Guests will also be able to visit the Heroes hall museum.
2019 Anaheim Veterans Day Ceremony
Date: November 11th from 11 am – 1 pm
The City of Anaheim is hosting a ceremony to honor all who have served in our military. There will cake and refreshments, speakers, and representatives from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
Veterans Day 2019 at Bill Barber Memorial Park
Date: November 11th from 11 am – 12:30 pm
This annual event hosted by the City of Irvine is open to the public. It will celebrate all who serve our nation through the military.

Each Veteran’s Day, we host a gas giveaway to thank the brave men and women who fight for this country. If you are an active duty or retired service member, head on out the G&M Gas Station in Huntington Beach on Monday for a free tank of gas. If you know a military member, invite them along too!
