Top Family-Friendly Halloween Events in Southern California

Free candy and an excuse to dress up in crazy costumes automatically make Halloween a favorite day for kids of all ages. Make this year extra-special by bringing the family to one of these exciting events going on around the community.   

 

Cops N’ Goblins

When: October 31st, 2019 from 2 pm – 5 pm
Where: Buena Park City Hall (6650 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA)
Cost: Free

Enjoy a fun and safe night of Halloween fun with the family. The Buena Park Police Department is hosting a special “Cops N’ Goblins” event. There will be trick-or-treating in City Hall and the Police Department, ghoulish characters from Medieval Times and Pirates Dinner Adventure, and members of the local Police Department to join in the festivities! For the kids, there will be free candy, a haunted maze, music, and other spooky activities.

Halloween Carnival

When: October 31st, 2019 from 6 pm – 9 pm
Where: Cypress Community Center (5700 Orange Avenue Cypress, CA)
Cost: $3.00 for admission

With game booths, candy, a fun zone, and entertainment, kids will have a blast at this Halloween carnival. There’s even a special area for trick-or-treating. Other food will also be sold on-site.

Halloween on Main Street

When: October 31st, 2019 from 4 pm – 8 pm
Where: Main Street and 5th Street (Huntington Beach, CA)
Cost: Free

Head out to Main Street for the city’s biggest annual family Halloween bash! There will be costume contests for kids, groups, and even canines. Kids can trick-or-treat at local businesses. Other attractions include photo stations, entertainment, and fun kid-oriented activities.

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

When: Now through November 2nd
Where: Griffith Park (4730 Crystal Springs Ave., Los Angeles, CA)
Cost: $35.00/ ticket

Those brave enough to climb aboard the Haunted Hayride will be in for a thrilling night. Halloween comes to life on this ride, giving rise to creatures of all sorts. Midnight Falls hosts this spooky adventure, along with other attractions like a Scare Zone, trick-or-treating, and haunted mazes. This is a fun place for families with older children but is not recommended for kids under 12.

Halloween Spookfest

When: October 31st, 2019 from 5 pm – 7 pm
Where: The District at Tustin Legacy (2437 Park Ave, Tustin, CA)
Cost: Free

Families are invited to head out to The District on Halloween for a night filled with spooky festivities. Start at the booth by the AMC Courtyard to pick up a free trick-or-treat bag from, and then jump into the party! Kids can receive free candy from the many shops with “Trick or Treat Here” signs in the windows. There will also be DJ dance parties, games and activities, photo opportunities, and balloon art. Costumes are encouraged!

Halloween Trick-Or-Treat at Westfield Topanga & The Village

When: October 31st, 2019 from 5 pm – 7 pm
Where: Westfield Topanga & The Village (6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Canoga Park, CA)
Cost: Free, must RSVP

Any children under 12 years old are invited to spend a safe night trick-or-treating at Westfield Topanga & The Village. They’ll be able to receive candy from the 40+ retailers participating in this year’s event. Those who would like to attend are encouraged to RSVP and bring their own bags for candy.

Adventure City’s BooTastic Halloween Party!

When: October 31st, 2019 from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Where: Adventure City (1238 S Beach Blvd. Anaheim, CA)
Cost: Tickets $26.95/person

Adventure City is hosting a special, kid-friendly Halloween event. There will be 11 exciting rides, a Halloween scavenger hunt on the Express Train, a dance party, a mad scientist performing tricks, and trick-or-treating for candy and trinkets. Everybody is invited to get in the spirit by wearing a kid-friendly costume to the party.

12th Annual Halloween Festival for DTLA Kids

When: October 31st, 2019 from 5 pm – 8 pm
Where: Grand Hope Park (919 S Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA)
Cost: $8/person before October 30th, $10/person at door

Families in Downtown Los Angeles have a great local event to spend their Halloween at. This festival will include bounce houses, arts and crafts, puppet shows, face painting, and other kid-centered entertainment. Enjoy hot dogs for dinner and trick-or-treat doors to score candy.
