Things to Do in Cheyenne

2019 Laramie County Fair

When: July 31st, 2019 - August 10th, 2019
Where: Laramie County Fairgrounds (3967 Archer Parkway, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: Free, certain evening events require a fee

Come out the Laramie County Fairgrounds for a week filled with food, fun, and festivities! Get in on the action by watching mutton bustin’, pig wrestling, or the demolition derby. Or, enjoy the sights at the antique tractor show and open dog show. The exhibits and contests are sure to thrill all.

Ride for Sight

When: August 4th, 2019
Where: Cheyenne North Community Soccer Field (3200 Mynear St, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: $45-$65

Bike through Cheyenne to help provide eye exams and glasses to those in need. Riders will start in the northern part of Cheyenne, and bike from there. Raffles and other fun activities will be on site.

Jalan Crossland at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

When: August 15th, 2019 at 6:00 pm
Where: Cheyenne Botanic Gardens (710 S Lions Park Dr, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: $15

Jalan Crossland, State Flatpick Champion and Governor’s Arts Award winner, is performing at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. His banjo playing, songwriting, showmanship, and acoustic style have gained acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Bring your own chair and relax in the gardens as you enjoy a night of music.

Wyoming Singer-Songwriter Competition in Cheyenne

When: August 15th, 2019 from 7 pm – 10 pm
Where: Asher Upstairs, LLC (500 W 15th St, Cheyenne, Wyoming)
Cost: Free

The Wyoming Singer-Songwriter competition is coming to Cheyenne! Witness some of the best musical talents in the area at the local qualifying competition. Singers come from all musical genres and exemplify the diversity and uniqueness of people across Wyoming.

Hoops for Hope

When: August 17th, 2019 from 11 am – 4 pm
Where: Holliday Park (E 19TH St, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: Tournament entry fee of $25 per adult (18+) and $15 per child (11-16), admission free

The Hoops for Hope three on three basketball tournament is a fundraiser for the COMEA Shelter, a group that provides safe shelter to homeless or those at risk of being homeless. Families can enjoy fun, food, bounce houses, a raffle, and stick around to watch as those in the community compete for a cash prize!

Beatles vs. Elvis - A Musical Showdown

When: August 17th, 2019 at 7:30 am
Where: Cheyenne Civic Center (510 W 20th St, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: $25-$65

It’s been asked since they began: who’s better—The Beatles or Elvis? This night will finally put the question to rest as Abbey Road and Scot Bruce’s Tribute to Elvis bands take the stage and each perform two sets. The audience will travel back through music history as they hear some of the world’s greatest hits side by side. 

Edge Fest 2019 Featuring K Flay

When: August 24th, 2019 from 5 pm – 10 pm
Where: Civic Commons Park (W 21st & Bent, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: Free

Join this free one-night music festival for people of all ages. Featured artists include K. Flay and Billy Raffoul. There will be music, DJs, food trucks, vendors, beer, and lots of dancing!

The Antelope Dash

When: August 24th, 2019 at 7:45 am
Where: Curt Gowdy State Park (1264 Granite Springs Rd, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: $35-$45

Enjoy scenic views of the natural Wyoming landscape as you race through curving trails in Curt Gowdy State Park. Over the course of the route, runners will climb 400 feet in elevation and pass through numerous aspens, pines, streams, and rock formations. Four-mile and eight-mile races are both offered.
