When severe flooding from Typhoon Halong devastated parts of Western Alaska, thousands of families were left facing difficult days ahead. Homes were damaged, essential supplies were lost, and many were forced to relocate. In moments like this, community support makes all the difference—and that’s where Nuvision’s Alaska team stepped in.
Immediate Help When It Was Needed Most
On October 29, Nuvision donated $525 worth of essential items through the Bethel Community Services Foundation. Working with the Association of Village Council Presidents’ Amazon Wish List, our contribution helped ensure that food, clothing, and emergency supplies were delivered directly to those most affected in Western Alaska.
But we knew this was just the beginning.
Turning Awareness Into Action
Across Alaska, Nuvision branches quickly joined together to expand the effort. Donation boxes were placed in Anchorage and Eagle River branches, giving both employees and members an easy way to help. Each branch received a $200 budget to purchase much-needed supplies, and members were encouraged to give through curated wish lists or in-person drop-offs.
Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster relief organization, coordinated the collection and distribution of these supplies through their emergency center in Anchorage—ensuring donations reached displaced families throughout the region.
Keeping the Spirit of Giving Strong
Nuvision team members have also stayed involved by spreading the word through social media, internal updates, and community meetings. Future volunteer opportunities will be shared as rebuilding continues, and our branches will remain ready to respond to upcoming relief initiatives.
Because when disaster strikes, it’s not just about helping for a day—it’s about showing up for the long haul. At Nuvision, we’re proud to stand with our Alaska communities, helping them rebuild and recover, together.
