Help Fight Hunger: Spotlighting Our Community Partners
For many families in our communities, the question isn’t “what’s for dinner?” but “will there be dinner at all?” Hunger doesn’t just take food off the table. It creates stress, keeps kids from focusing in school, and makes it harder for families to get back on their feet.
That’s why we launched the NuvisionCares Help Fight Hunger initiative. Across California, Alaska, and Wyoming, we’ve partnered with food banks and nonprofits who are in our communities helping people overcome food insecurities.
Each of these organizations has its own powerful story and its own way of making a difference. Some rescue surplus food and turn it into fresh meals. Others make sure kids don’t go hungry over the weekend. All of them are powered by people—staff, volunteers, and community members—who believe no one should ever have to face hunger alone.
We’re glad to stand beside them and share their stories.
Southern California
Bracken’s Kitchen
Bracken’s Kitchen isn’t your typical kitchen. They’ve found a way to tackle two problems at once: food waste and hunger. By taking good surplus food and turning it into fresh, high-quality meals, they provide thousands of families with nourishment each week. It’s a simple idea with a big impact—they’re using food to make a real difference for both people and the planet.

Robyne’s Nest
Imagine being a teenager and not knowing if you’ll eat tonight. That’s the reality for many of the students Robyne’s Nest helps. This group provides food and stability for at-risk and homeless youth. A $100 donation can feed a student for two weeks, but the impact is far greater. By making sure students have enough to eat, Robyne’s Nest gives them the chance to stay in school, graduate, and start building a future.

Alameda County Community Food Bank
For almost 40 years, the Alameda County Community Food Bank has been a lifeline in the Bay Area. They don’t just hand out food—they fight for systemic change, teach nutrition, and work toward a hunger-free community.
Our team recently spent a morning volunteering with them. In just a couple of hours, we helped sort over 1,000 pounds of potatoes. That same morning, their volunteers processed enough food to provide 10,000 meals. It showed us how much can be accomplished when people pull together around a shared purpose.

Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
For more than 45 years, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano has been serving families across the region. Every month, more than 275,000 people count on them for consistent access to nutritious food.
On April 5, our Nuvision team joined a volunteer shift at their Concord warehouse. In just two hours, we sorted and bagged over 1,500 pounds of apples for local schoolchildren. It’s the kind of volunteer work that reminds you why showing up matters.

Bean’s Café
Bean’s Café is fighting hunger and homelessness in Anchorage, one warm meal at a time. They show up for people like James, a Navy veteran who came in cold and hungry, and Angela, who had been living in her car. A hot meal gave both of them more than food—it gave them hope. Every meal they serve is proof that nobody should have to face hunger alone.

The Children’s Lunchbox
A program of Bean’s Café, The Children’s Lunchbox was created to fight child hunger in Anchorage. What began with a focus on kids has grown to support entire families, helping thousands who are struggling to choose between paying for rent, heat, or groceries. With support from donors and volunteers, families here know they won’t be left to face these tough choices on their own.

Friday Food Bag Foundation
The Friday Food Bag Foundation makes sure students in Cheyenne and Laramie County don’t go hungry on weekends. What began in 2007 with a handful of bags has grown into an all-volunteer effort delivering more than 1,200 food bags every week. Each of those bags is more than just food—it’s peace of mind for a child and their family heading into the weekend.

Why We Stand With These Great Organizations
Hunger is closer to home than most people realize. It’s kids showing up to school without breakfast. It’s parents skipping meals so their children have enough. That’s why this work matters to us.
The groups we’ve partnered with are doing incredible things, and we’re glad to be right there with them—whether it’s packing food, raising money, or spreading the word. It takes a community pulling in the same direction to make sure families don’t get left behind.
At the end of the day, that’s what NuvisionCares is about—neighbors looking out for one another.
