What does it really take to make a difference in our communities?

Sometimes, it’s as simple as helping a student feel confident on their first day of school or showing up to support veterans who have given so much. This past month, Nuvision members and our teams did exactly that through NuvisionCares events across Southern California, the Bay Area and Alaska.

Helping Students Get a Fresh Start

Helping Kids

We believe that every student deserves to start the school year with confidence, and our community proved just how much they agree. For our annual NuvisionCares clothing drive, we teamed up with community partner Robyne's Nest to make it happen. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, staff, and partners, we were able to collect a huge amount of clothing to support local students in need.

We also had the honor of supporting His Little Feet for their annual Back-to-School event. Our Nuvision team was on-site, helping kids pick out new shoes and backpacks, and it was truly special to watch their faces light up as they found handwritten notes tucked inside their shoeboxes. This marked our second year supporting this incredible event, with a $2,500 donation to help provide school essentials for kids in foster care and local shelters.

“His Little Feet is grateful beyond words for the incredible support Nuvision has provided for the 2nd year in a row! Your generosity has fueled our mission not only in funding but also in dozens of volunteer hours. This summer we were able to provide over 200 kids with brand-new backpacks filled with supplies. The children and parents were blown away by the love and level of support they received through our partnership. We can’t thank Nuvision enough for your beautiful hearts for the community!” – Hali Wolf, His Little Feet

Bay Area Clothing Drive with White Pony Express

Bay Area Nuvision Cares

This summer, we launched our first-ever NuvisionCares clothing drive in our Bay Area branches, and it was a wonderful success. All the donations are being prepared for distribution through our partner, White Pony Express, providing essential clothing and baby supplies that will help local families thrive.

We are especially proud to highlight Carol S, a member from our Pleasanton Branch and this month’s Nuvision Hero. Carol personally bought a majority of the items on the Bay Area donation list, making sure countless children and families have the supplies they need. Her generosity is a powerful example of how one person’s care can make a huge impact on an entire community.

Boots, Beanies & Socks for Alaska Students

Despite some rather challenging weather, our Alaska teams showed up in force to make sure kids were ready for the school year—and for winter. For the fourth consecutive year, through our annual NuvisionCares Boots and Socks Drive, we were excited to support The Clothesline Project by Anchorage Cops for Community.

Together with our members, team donations, and 600 pairs of boots contributed by Nuvision Hero Mark Moehring and his Wear a Big Smile Foundation,  Nuvision’s Boot Drive delivered almost 1500 pairs of boots, and hundreds of pairs of socks and stocking caps to children in the Anchorage area.

Honoring Veterans in Huntington Beach

Our team also had a fantastic day volunteering at the annual Huntington Beach American Legion Post 133 Veterans Car Show. This amazing event brought the community together to support veterans, with all proceeds going to the City of Huntington Beach Veterans Resource Center.

We were honored to present Post 133 with our Community Heroes Award for their commitment to supporting veterans, as well as a donation of $2,500 towards the Veteran’s Resource Center. Nuvision is proud to contribute to their mission of serving those who have served us.

Thank you to the American Legion, our volunteers, participants, and everyone who attended the car show for making this such a meaningful day.

Thank You

From Huntington Beach to  the Bay Area and Anchorage, these efforts are only possible because of our members, partners, and teams who continue to give back to our communities. For 90 years, Nuvision has been rooted in community—and we are proud to keep that commitment alive through NuvisionCares.

Thank you for helping us support kids, families, and veterans in the communities we serve.
