Independence Day Events in Orange County

Fireworks, parades, picnics, and barbeques are all familiar sights on the Fourth of July. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate this holiday, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our list of the best things happening on Independence Day in our community.


The Nuvision Freedom Ride

When: July 4th, 2019 at 8:00 am
Where: Nuvision Credit Union (7812 Edinger Ave. Huntington Beach, CA)
Cost: Free

Join us as we celebrate our military and first responders this Fourth of July! The Nuvision Freedom honors the heroic men and women who respond to emergency situations. The motorcycle ride begins at Nuvision headquarters and ends at Cook’s Corner, where there will be free breakfast, a presentation, and live music by the award-winning singer-songwriter and Marine veteran Gethen Jenkins. Be sure to RSVP if you want to ride, volunteer, or just come out and show your support!


July 4th on the Beach

When: July 4th, 2019 from 2:30-9:30 pm
Where: Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort (1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, CA)
Cost: General admission free, VIP seating and on-site parking are additional costs

Head over to the beach for a free concert featuring DSB, SantanaWays, and Fortunate Sons. In addition to the concert, there will be family fun going on all day long. Not only are there kayaks and hydro bikes available for rental—but there will also be a huge inflatable water park. Stick around until the end of the night for a spectacular firework show sponsored by the City of Newport Beach.


4th of July Celebration at Pretend City

When: July 3rd, 2019 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: Pretend City Children's Museum (29 Hubble, Irvine, CA)
Cost: $13.75/ person for museum admission

This is the perfect place to take kids for some Fourth of July fun, and lessons in patriotism and science. Children can create their own fireworks in the art studio, learn history in an interactive story activity, and participate in a parade through the museum.


Dodger Game with Independence Day Fireworks

When: July 4th, 2019 at 6:00 pm
Where: Dodger Stadium (1000 Elysian Park Ave, Los Angeles, CA)
Cost: Tickets starting at $32

Spend the evening watching an American classic—baseball! On the Fourth of July, the Dodgers will face the San Diego Padres. After the game, there will be a firework display for all in attendance.


July 4th Fireworks Spectacular with Nile Rodgers & CHIC

When: July 4th, 2019 at 7:30 pm
Where: Hollywood Bowl (2301 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA)
Cost: Tickets starting at $18

This three-night celebration is sure to make your Independence Day amazing. Nile Rodgers, CHIC, and the LA Phil have teamed up to bring one amazing show, with fireworks!

Fourth of July Parade - America, Better Together!

When: July 4th, 2019 at 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Where: Loyola Boulevard (from Westchester Park to LMU Los Angeles, CA) 
Cost: Free

Each year, citizens join together to express their patriotism with an Independence Day parade. This year’s theme is “America, Better Together!” It will honor the melting pot nature of our country and celebrate how much stronger we are when we work together.


4th of July Community Festival & Fireworks Show

When: July 4th, 2019 at 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Where:  Exposition Park (700 Exposition Park Drive, Los Angeles, CA)
Cost: Free

Celebrate our nation’s birthday with live music, good food, and lots of activities for the whole family. This picnic-style event will also feature a firework show.


When: July 4th, 2019 at 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Where:  Pacific Hideaway (500 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA)
Cost: $150/person

Everybody who comes to the viewing party can enjoy four complimentary beverages, an all-you-can-eat buffet, and live music by The Breakfast Club. You’ll have a blast while you wait for the firework display at the end of the night. 


4th of July Brunch Cruise

When: July 4th, 2019 at 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Where: 2431 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach, CA
Cost: $75/adult, $45/child

Enjoy a two-hour yacht cruise complete with a brunch buffet and free-flowing champagne, sparkling cider, and mimosas. From the deck, you’ll have a perfect view of the beautiful ocean surroundings, and the Old Glory Boat Parade that takes over the harbor each year on the Fourth of July. In between the food and parade, you can also enjoy some live music.
