Things are heating up in Wyoming! The top community events around Cheyenne in June
Summer is finally here! If you’re itching to get out of the house, there’s plenty going on right in Cheyenne during June. Whether you’re looking for something to do with the kids or for something to do by yourself, you’re sure to find something exciting on our list of the top events happening this month:
Cheyenne Celtic Festival
When: June 8-9th, 2019
Where: Lions Park (600 S Lions Park Dr, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: Free
Take in the Celtic culture with pipe bands, live entertainment, food, beer, and more. Shop around at different vendors, or watch the Highlander games. You’re sure to have a blast at this all-age friendly event.
1st Annual Tree & Garden Tour-Historic Dubois Block
When: Sunday, June 9th, 2019 from 1-5 pm
Where: Historic Dubois Block
Cost: $10 for an individual, or $15 for a family
Learn how to make your yard beautiful by touring the private gardens and yards of homes on the Historic Dubois Block. On the tour, you’ll find over 30 varieties of tree and shrubs, rose gardens, grape arbors, and more. There will also be food trucks, lawn games, and tree care workshops on site.
Car Show
When: Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 at 6 pm
Where: Cheyenne Hills Church (7505 US Highway 30, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: Free
Check out the best cars and specialty vehicles from around the area. The entrants voted best by attendees will receive prizes. This is a family event and will also feature an inflatable slide, games, and an art show.
Cheyenne Artwalk
When: Thursday, June 13th, 2019 from 5-8pm
Where: Hynds Building (17th Street, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: Free
See art by four amazing Cheyenne artists. Multiple displays will be featured in different locations throughout the building. Stick around after you’ve toured the displays to enjoy special activities by businesses in the area.
Wyoming Brewers Festival
When: June 14-15th, 2019 from 5-10pm
Where: Depot Plaza, 121 W. 15th st, Cheyenne, WY 82001
Cost: $35 for single night pass, $60 for a weekend pass
Spend the weekend sampling good beer and listening to live music. This event is a fundraiser to support the revitalization of the Historic Union Pacific Depot located in downtown Cheyenne. Ticket proceeds in the past years have gone towards things like ceiling repairs, painting, electrical fixes, window renovations, and the installation of an elevator. Coming to this event not only means having a great time, but it also means you’re supporting a great cause.
10th Annual Spring Into Green 5K/10K Run/Fun Walk
When: Saturday, June 15nd, 2019 starting at 8:00 am
Where: Mylar Park (5205 Seminoe Rd, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: $25 early registration, $20 for seniors
Pull out your costumes from the back of the closet and come dressed as your favorite work of art or artist. Enjoy the fresh air as you race along the Greenway trail and view the new art installations. At the end of the fun run, you’ll be showered with confetti and invited to stay for food, awards, and a chance to create your own art.
Historic Ranch Tour: Y Cross Ranch
When: Saturday, June 15nd, 2019 starting at 10:00 am
Where: Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum and Store (4610 Carey Avenue, Cheyenne, WY)
Cost: $40
As part of a new fundraiser, the CFD Old West Museum is now offering tours of Historic Wyoming Ranches. This tour features the Y Cross Ranch. Participants will learn about the historical and current significance of the ranch, take a trolley ride, and eat a picnic lunch.
Chalk Art Festival
When: Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 starting at 8 am
Where: Lions Park (8th Avenue & Carey Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001)
Cost: Entry fees range from $20 for an individual to $35 for a pair
Are you an artist? Just looking for something fun to do on a Saturday? Join art enthusiasts of all ages at the Chalk Festival. Each artist, or pair, receives a 4’ x 4’ square and a palette of chalk to create their masterpiece. Drawings must be based on the theme “Be Entertained!” and approved before June 15th. The top three entries in each age group will receive a prize.
