Honoring our Heroes: Military Appreciation Month Events and Discounts Near Cheyenne
May is military appreciation month, and there are lots of free events and discounts available to service members in Cheyenne. Some of these discounts are good year-round, others are onetime events or are valid for only this month. We’ve collected some of the best things happening soon for veterans and active duty military on this list. Be sure to check them out and try a few:
Military appreciation month and Memorial Day Events
Nuvision’s Military Gas Giveaway
When: Monday, May 27, 2019, from 11 am – 12 pm

Cost: Free for Military and Veterans
Nuvision is always looking for ways to support our military. This Memorial Day, we are proud to be again honoring the men and women of the military who have given their lives to protect our country. We’ll be supplying a free tank of gas up to 20 gallons to any service member or veteran with a valid military ID. This free event is at the Maverik gas station at the corner of Pershing & College Drive in Cheyenne, WY.
When: Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 5:30pm – 11:00pm
Where: Fort Collins Marriott, 350 East Horsetooth Road, Fort Collins, CO 80525
Cost: Tickets start at $25
The event will begin with dinner and a presentation by Lieutenant General William Welser III. Following the presentation will be music and dancing. All veterans and community members are invited to attend this event.

Where: Boulder Creek Path, Boulder, CO 80302
Cost: Free
With live music, carnival food, maker’s markets, and a fine art expo, this event is a great way to kick off your summer and celebrate Memorial Day. For the kids, there’s face painting, summer camp previews, and carnival activities.
Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day Discounts
As a thank you to the service members in the community, the Frontier Mall has partnered with some of its retailers to offer a military discount. Many retailers are giving 10% discounts, and many others are giving even more. Check out the full list here.
This event is in July, but tickets are on sale now. Military service members can get a discount by presenting a military ID. They can also visit for free on Military Monday, July 22nd.
Active duty members, Reservists, National Guard members, Retirees, and those in the household of a military member are eligible for a discount. To secure the offer, you need to register online.
This restaurant offers a 10% discount with a valid military ID.
Military members can gain entry to the Cheyenne Depot Museum for a discounted ticket price. Just show a valid ID at purchase.
Though they don’t offer a discount on the park, the Cheyenne military base sells tickets at a discounted rate. Be sure to stop by to pick some up.
Other places in Cheyenne offer discounts but aren’t listed here. Many of these businesses have programs that just aren’t advertised. If you’re active duty military or a retired veteran, it’s a good idea to ask about a military
discount wherever you are It could save you a significant amount of money in the long run, and you might be surprised how many places offer them.
