Ready to boogie into the New Year? Nuvision wants to help you start the new year right, so we’ve compiled a list of the top New Year’s activities in and near Cheyenne. Whether you want to want to stay local or drive to a nearby city, your sure to find something here to kick off your 2019 right!

 

  1. New Year’s Eve Ball Drop

    Date: Monday, December 31, 2018 – Tuesday, January 1, 2019

    Time Duration: 3 PM – 6 PM for the children’s event / 7:30 PM-Midnight for adult activities & ball drop

    On New Year’s, Depot Plaza in downtown Cheyenne transforms into party central for locals and tourists of all ages. Children and parents will have a wonderful time playing inside the Depot with a wide selection of activities including live entertainment, games, craft-making, ice skating, and even rides in horse-drawn carriages. At 6 pm, gather the kids for an early New Year’s ball drop and fireworks display.

    From 7:30 PM onward, the area brings in the older crowd for live music, ice skating, dancing, and drinks throughout the night. At 11:30, attendees are welcome to gather outside to witness the ball drop at midnight with “Auld Lang Syne” playing in the background. This is one free event that you’ll want to bring your friends and family to time and time again!

     

  2. New Year’s Eve Celebration at Little America Hotel

    Date: Monday, December 31, 2018 – Tuesday, January 1, 2019
    Time: 7:00 PM - 1:00 AM

    If you’re a local looking for a smaller celebration, head down to Hathaway’s Lounge at the Little America Hotel. You’ll enjoy a night of live music and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Food in the restaurant is served throughout the night until 10 pm.

     

  3. Noon Year’s Mac & Cheese Festival at Davis Street Station

    Date: Monday, December 31, 2018

    Time Duration: 11 AM – 1 PM

    Love all things gooey, cheesy, and carb-filled? Hop on over to Casper, WY for the city’s annual Noon Year Mac & Cheese Festival and enjoy the delicious sights and smells during this two-hour event. Make sure you come with an empty stomach, Casper’s local restaurants will dish out their versions of the beloved American comfort food for all attendees to try out! Don’t worry about over-indulging; the festival includes ice skating and numerous other outdoor activities that will help you burn off those extra calories. This family-friendly festival also features a New Years countdown at noon, so it’s the perfect outing for families with younger kids.

  4. Centerra New Year's Eve Bash

    Date: Mon, Dec 31, 2018, Tue, Jan 1, 2019,

    Time Duration: 8 pm for the fireworks show / 8:30 PM –12:00 AM for NYE Silent Disco Party

    Kick off the night a free firework show and family-friendly activities in the Main Plaza. Then, head over to the NYE Silent Disco party under a heated tent on The Great Lawn. Spend the night jamming out to music from the live DJs and ring in the new year with a spectacular light show and midnight countdown.

    Tickets are $25 and include admission, headphone rental, two beverage tickets, snacks, party giveaways, the laser light show, and the midnight countdown. The event is open to teens and adults, but you must be 21+ with a valid ID and wristband to have alcoholic beverages.

  5. Resolution NYE 2019

    Dates: Monday, December 31, 2018 – Tuesday, January 1, 2019

    Time Duration: 9 PM – 2 AM

    Thinking about going to Denver for the New Year’s Eve weekend? Well, pack your best club attire and get your best selfie face ready for one jaw-dropping upscale bash! Known to be Denver’s premier New Year’s Eve Party, Resolution NYE takes over the historic McNichols Civic Center Building and transforms it into an electric neon extravaganza complete with a 21+ open bar. Guests can snag artsy photos at any of the five Instagram-worthy photo setups, watch live local entertainment, or groove on any of the three dance floors with world-class DJs! As midnight approaches, you can anticipate a venue-wide countdown complete with confetti, sparklers, colorful lights, and a balloon drop.

    This is one of the city’s hottest events, so make sure to grab your tickets as soon as possible! Tickets range from $99 for general admission to $175 for VIP admission, which also includes an early 8 PM entry.

  6. Colorado Avalanche v.s. Los Angeles Kings at the Pepsi Center

    Date: Monday, December 31, 2018

    Time Duration: Doors open at 5 PM / Game starts at 6 PM

    Get the adrenaline pumping with your family and catch an NHL hockey game inside Denver’s Pepsi Center! Grab a family night package (which includes four tickets, four chicken tender meals, and four Pepsis) or indulge in the NYE Happy Hour package (includes two upper bowl tickets and two glasses of champagne) and watch the Colorado Avalanche take on the Los Angeles Kings in one intense match you won’t want to miss.   7. Noon Year’s Eve at the Children’s Museum of Denver

    Date: Monday, December 31, 2018

    Time Duration: 9 AM – 4 PM

    The Children’s Museum of Denver is hosting a party for children of all ages to celebrate the New Year in a fun, interactive, and educational way. Make your own New Year’s sparkler or noisemaker, take a picture with your favorite cartoon characters, or enjoy a sweet treat fresh from the Teaching Kitchen right inside the museum. If your tots are down to dance, they can bust a move to the fresh sounds of Mr. Kneel the beatboxer!

    With countdowns and ball drops every hour on the plaza, your children can experience all the fun of New Years without missing bedtime! Tickets are free for kids one and under, $14 for seniors and one-year-olds, and $16 for attendees two to 59-years-old.

     

  8. Introvert’s New Year’s Eve Party at BookBar

    Date: Monday, December 31, 2018 – Tuesday, January 1, 2019

    Time Duration: 9 PM – 1 AM

    Escape the loud crowds and the cold this year with the BookBar’s aptly named Introvert’s New Year’s Eve Party! This intimate indie bookstore/wine bar will host a cozy shindig perfect for those who want to ring in 2019 more subtly. Bring your friends, your favorite novel, and of course your fuzzy socks for a soothing get-together complete with tasty treats. Activities at the party include board game sessions, an adult coloring book party, silent reading, and a midnight champagne toast with fresh dessert!

  9. A Night in Vienna Presented by the Colorado Symphony

Date: Monday, December 31, 2018

Time Duration: Concert starts at 6:30 PM

Waltz into 2019 with this beloved annual Mile High City tradition. Presented by the Colorado Symphony and conducted by Brett Mitchell, “A Night in Vienna” features stirring renditions of waltzes, polkas, and marches in the Boettcher Concert Hall. Otto Nikolai, Johann Strauss II, Giuseppe Verdi, Leonard Bernstein, and Émile Waldteufel are among some of the composers featured for the night’s musical event.
