As we wrap up Military Appreciation month with our annual Memorial Day events, we want to take time to look back at the month and once again thank our brave men and women in uniform for the sacrifices they make for our freedoms.

We just wrapped up our annual Essay Challenge scholarship program, where for the first time, we opened it up to high school seniors in California, Alaska, Arizona, Washington, and Wyoming. Six outstanding high school students were awarded $5,000 scholarships.

This month Nuvision Hero Lieutenant Colonel Graham exemplifies service to his community and is a man who has inspired and mentored countless kids and young adults throughout his remarkable career.

Being a military family presents a unique set of challenges—family separations, deployments, and additional moving costs. The duties of a service member create many extra burdens that civilian families don’t have to deal with, which makes it even more important for them to have a handle on their budget.

This month, the nation will honor our military and reflect on all they do to keep us free. Here at Nuvision, we have a few special things planned for this month as well...

Last year was the best for local real estate since 2005. But things are changing, and demand is taking a hit as mortgage rates continue to rise. Mortgage rates have risen more than 2.25% since December, making homes less affordable. Changes in affordability that come with rising rates will cool the insane pace that has characterized the market recently.

Since she joined the mortgage team in 2017, Angie’s presence has made workdays more enjoyable and the workload easier to manage. She can always be counted on to jump in when a need arises, whether it’s serving a member or giving time last-minute to fill an overlooked need. Angie’s hand is the first to go up to volunteer for Nuvision community events, like our Memorial Day Gas Giveaway.

No matter the profession, our members have one thing in common: they are making a difference. We are grateful that so many hard-working people have chosen to trust us to assist with their financial needs. We want to thank you with more than words.
