the LA Department of Children and Family Services, she now works full-time in the financial services industry, where she and her husband have built a practice helping families strengthen their financial futures and mentoring agents who want to make a living as business owners. For years, she’s partnered with us to lead financial workshops for high school students across Southern California. That, along with her commitment to community service, is why we choose Kirsten for this month’s Nuvision Hero.

The IRS has proposed adding a reporting provision to the $3.5 billion spending bill currently being discussed in Congress, which will require financial institutions like Nuvision to report all transactional information about your spending habits to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). We feel it is our responsibility to alert members about this concerning legislation and provide you with as much information as possible to help you push back against this infringement on your rights.

As leaves begin to fall, housing inventory and demand do too. With kids starting school and families gearing up for the holidays, moving becomes more disruptive. Despite the coming drops in demand, this year’s market won’t be cooling down.

Dave Badgett is a former fireman, Vietnam war veteran, Naval Postgraduate School instructor, and public safety consultant. He was also one of the leaders of a Los Angeles Fire Department specialty team flown across the country to respond to the 9/11 attacks. In his 32 years with the LAFD facing high-rise fires, shootings, riots, brushfires, and airplane crashes, nothing compared to those days spent in New York. For his courage and lifelong dedication to public safety, we are honoring Dave as a Nuvision hero.

For our California members, the state’s eviction moratorium is set to expire for September 30th which will affect members who currently rent property. We encourage those to apply for the California COVID-19 Rent Relief Program to get assistance for expenses such as rent, utilities, and use housing protections to prevent evictions.

Hundreds of Nuvision members spent a Thursday evening outdoors under the late August sky, enjoying stunning lakeside views and a cool summer breeze. At our August 19th Member Celebration Event, we wanted to show the community how much we care. This meant bringing the best of everything—the best local catering, the best local band, and the best venue to represent our values, the Anchorage Aviation Museum.
