Trisha Knox

Nuvision Heroes: A team member of 19 years who understands the impact a simple conversation can have on the community

Born and raised in Chugiak, Alaska, one of the things Trisha Knox values most is giving back to the community she has loved all her life. With the determination she learned growing up in a family of hard-working business owners, she’s spent her 19 years with Nuvision doing exactly that. Trisha always makes time to cultivate real relationships with community members and meet the needs of those around her, whether that means coaching youth sports or helping with Nuvision’s financial literacy program for young adults.

Community update: Nuvision honored over 700 veterans with $25 gas cards in November, raised $11,000 for food pantries, and will host holiday toy drives in December

It’s been a busy couple of months at Nuvision. We’ve raised $11,000 for food pantries in Alaska, gave over 700 veterans $25 gas cards across all markets, and hosted a number of lunches and events to thank the local military. Now, it’s about to get even busier! As we enter the holiday season, our efforts to serve the community are ramping up. Between toy drives and other holiday festivities, we’re excited to continue investing in the neighborhoods we serve. Here’s a recap of what we’ve been up to during the past few months and a glance at what’s coming this December:
Wasilla Branch

Getting to know our members: Nuvision CEO Roger Ballard takes questions from Alaska members at virtual town hall

As a credit union focused on helping members build their lives, our team places a high value on the relationships we form. That’s why our CEO, Roger Ballard, wanted to make himself personally available to every member in Alaska with a question, concern, or comment. Earlier this month, he spent part a Tuesday afternoon recording from the Financial Center Branch in Anchorage, sharing his vision with members and taking questions over Zoom at a virtual town hall meeting.

Jason Kimmel

Nuvision Heroes: An Alaska restaurant owner whose community-centered vision has helped his company impact countless people

Jason Kimmel is the co-founder and owner of Peppercini’s, a staple of Alaska dining since he launched its first sandwich shop nearly 15 years ago. From day one, Jason has been working to make Peppercini’s a company dedicated to giving back to the community. He and his team are not only frequent partners in Nuvision’s outreach programs—like the NuvisionCares program that provided meals to frontline healthcare workers–but they also constantly provide donations to other local organizations. To thank Jason for his dedication to the Alaska community, we’re recognizing him as this month’s Nuvision hero.

Seven weeks will also mark the start of the slowest season in the housing market: The Holiday Market, a time when inventory and demand decrease.
