Beware of scammers’ latest tactic for accessing personal information
If you receive a call from a person claiming to be a Nuvision representative and asks you to “update information” on your account, please know that it could be a scam. Recently, scammers have been targeting financial institutions by calling or texting their members and posing as a representative. These fraudsters will usually ask you to “update information” to trick you into giving your 4-digit PIN or other sensitive data. The best way to protect yourself in these situations is to call us directly and double-check all suspicious phone numbers against the one on our website. Scammers may sound trustworthy and legitimate. Scammers are good at what they do and have no issues taking advantage of your trust. They might initially appear legitimate by providing personal information, using a local phone number, showing up with a caller ID that says Denali, or sounding like a real representative over the phone. Some fraud victims have reported that searching the scammer’s phone number on Google caused their bank to show up as the first result. This does not indicate the caller is who they claim to be.
