Scam Alert: Criminals can use Text Message Phishing Attacks to Steal Customer Account Info
Nuvision has received numerous reports from members and non-members that they have received text messages asking for sensitive account and financial information. Nuvision does not send out text messages that request account information and members should never provide sensitive information over the phone unless they know who they are speaking to.
- Never respond to a text message that asks for account, personal, or financial information. Nuvision never asks for personal or financial information in a text message.
- Don’t click on links provided in the message: Links can install malware or redirect you to spoof sites that look real pages but whose purpose is to steal your information.
- Verify that any number that appears in a text message is Nuvision Credit Union. If you have any doubt, call the main customer service number at 800-444-6327.
- Most cell carriers allow you to report spam and scam texts by forwarding unsolicited text messages to the number 7726 (SPAM).
