We are thrilled to announce the winners of our NuvisionCares Nurses Week Giveaway! This past National Nurses Week, from May 6 to May 13, 2024, we recognized the vital role nurses play in our communities and our lives every day. We received an overwhelming response, with 33 nurses nominated, each of whom has touched the lives of countless people with their dedication and compassion.

In the constantly shifting world of healthcare, one constant remains: the essential role of nurses. These dedicated professionals are the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to ensure the well-being of patients, often facing immense challenges with grace and resilience. Their contributions go beyond the physical aspects of care, as they also provide emotional support and a comforting presence during some of life’s most difficult moments.
Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, often going above and beyond the call of duty to provide care and comfort to those in need. During our toughest times, they stand by us, offering their medical expertise and emotional support. This year, we wanted to recognize these unsung heroes by celebrating their unwavering commitment to making a difference.
Meet the Heroes: Celebrating Our NuvisionCares Nurses Week Giveaway Winners
Each of the 33 nominated nurses, representing more than 30 hospitals, received a $50 Amazon gift card as a token of our appreciation. While we wish we could highlight all their stories, here are a few that stood out and touched our hearts:
Compassionate Care: Amy is known for her incredible compassion and sympathy, not just towards her patients but their families as well. Her nurturing spirit brings comfort during challenging times.
Humor and Kindness: Ana has a unique ability to make sick children laugh, easing their fears with her kind nature and great sense of humor. She brings light into the lives of her young patients.
Lifetime of Service: Barbie has dedicated over 30 years to nursing, consistently advocating for her patients and providing a sense of comfort and strength to those in fear and pain. Her commitment extends beyond her professional duties to her family as well.
Exceptional Dedication: Davee excels at tasks many find challenging, such as caring for very sick babies and elders. As a single mother of three, her sheer determination and empathy inspire everyone around her.
Selfless Service: Dixie is known for her genuine care and servant’s heart. She has touched countless lives in her community, demonstrating that true compassion knows no bounds.
Relentless Spirit: Edyta worked tirelessly even when her health suggested she should rest. Her energy and dedication have been a source of inspiration to her family and colleagues alike.
Pediatric Oncology Hero: Emily works as a pediatric oncology nurse, where her loving and caring nature provides comfort to children and their families during the most difficult times.
Mentor and Advocate: Gilbert brings compassion and a positive attitude to his patients while mentoring new nurses. He is a fierce advocate for better treatment options and always prioritizes his patients' needs.
Heart of Gold: Jonah has remained steadfast and dedicated throughout the pandemic, sacrificing personal time to ensure the well-being of his patients and fellow nurses.
Battling on All Fronts: Loma, a cancer survivor, chose to become a nurse to give back. Her resilience and dedication to her patients are truly inspirational, showing that personal challenges can lead to profound compassion.
These stories are a snapshot of the incredible contributions from our nominees. Each nurse embodies the care, dedication, and empathy that define the nursing profession.
