Happy Independence Day! Here's what Freedom Means to our Heroes
Happy Independence Day! We remember today as America’s birthday, but it’s also much more than that. It’s the celebration of what freedom means, of generations of men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedom, and of the kind of life we can lead here in America.
Throughout history, Americans have paid the price of freedom with things that can’t be given back. That’s why these people are heroes. They choose to fight for freedom, even when it means they will have to give up something important.
Here is what Freedom Means to some of our Heroes
At Nuvision, the Fourth of July is a time when we honor our heroes and host our annual Freedom Ride. While this year's ride may be postponed, we can still reflect on the meaning of freedom and honor those who have sacrificed everything.
To us, freedom sounds like those motorcycle engines revving and boisterous crowds cheering in celebration. Even though we can’t meet in person, we’re taking this opportunity to really reflect on the meaning of freedom apart from the celebrations. We hope you’re finding some meaning in today too.
Even though our normal events are postponed, we’ve been able to honor our heroes in new ways, like the NuvisionCares initiative and the upcoming Helping Heroes project to stock the Cheyenne VA Medical Center’s food pantry. While we love to celebrate, we also believe it is also important to provide support in a time of need.
