We are happy to share that Cooperative Center Federal Credit Union (CCFCU) members approved our merger partnership at a Special Member Meeting held on March 14, 2024. The CCFCU member vote was the final approval needed for the merger, and we are excited to welcome CCFCU members into the Nuvision family beginning June 1st. We look forward to joining forces with the CCFCU team to bring many new benefits to our collective members and our combined credit union.

FAQs

Will my checking account and routing number change?   +

Yes, your routing number will change, and will be given a new 12-digit account number. We will honor and clear any outstanding Cooperative Center checks that have been written until February 1, 2025. We highly recommend that members order their new checks with their new account & routing numbers soon after June 3rd, to ensure they are available when needed.

What will happen to checks that I have ordered (paid for) and are using? Will I have to purchase new checks?  +

No, any outstanding Cooperative Center checks will be honored and clear until February 1, 2025. If you have not finished your checks by then, please order new ones that will include your updated Nuvision routing number and account number.

I write checks often and I will need a few through the conversion. Will I receive any new checks in the mail?  +

Yes, if you’ve written checks in the past three months, you will receive a letter along with three checks with your new account and routing number. Please use these in the short-term while you wait for your new checks to arrive.

Will there be a free checking account offered?  +

Yes. Nuvision offers Simple Free Checking and Young Adult Checking (members 13-23 years of age), which are both fee-free checking accounts.

What will happen to my auto debits (ACH) and direct deposits?  +

ACH and Direct Deposit (Payroll Deposits and Government issued benefits, such as Social Security, Disability, etc.) will continue to process without interruption until February 1st 2025. However, it is recommended that any ACH/Direct Deposit information be updated at the members earliest convenience after June 3rd 2024.

Previously, Cooperative Money Market Accounts had check writing capabilities. Will any outstanding checks clear against their new Money Market accounts (which do not have check writing capabilities)?  +

Yes, any outstanding Money Market checks will clear against the newly mapped Money Market accounts.

Where or how can I set up a recurring payment?  +

 

  • Members can originate a one-time payment or recurring payments to a loan(s) using Nuvision’s EZPay Portal, located on the website at  Make a Payment (nuvisionfederal.com). Payment options include ACH and Debit Cards.

 

  • Recurring monthly auto ACH to closed-end loans through an ACH Origination & Authorization  Source, can be made from a savings or checking account from an external financial institution.  Please note that the Routing & Account number are required.

     

  • Recurring auto payments from internal account sources can also be set up through online banking

Who do I contact if my loan(s) are past due?   +

I’ve opted into Cooperatives ‘Privilege Pay’. Will I remain opted-in with Nuvision, and will anything change that I should be aware of?  +

Cooperative FCU does not assess an overdraft fee on transactions that overdraw your account $24.99 or less.  After June 3, 2024, when our credit unions merge, this will no longer be available. After June 3rd any transaction that overdraws your account will incur a fee of $30, up to 4 fees per day.

Will I be assessed a Bounce Protection fee if I make one small purchase or multiple purchases, say between $1- $25 that makes my account go negative?  +

Cooperative FCU does not assess an overdraft fee on transactions that overdraw your account $24.99 or less.  After June 3, 2024, when our credit unions merge, this will no longer be available. After June 3rd any transaction that overdraws your account will incur a fee of $30, up to 4 fees per day.

I rely on Overdraft Protection where coverage is pulled from my other deposit accounts. Can I continue to utilize this type of Overdraft, and are there any differences between Cooperative Center and Nuvision?  +

Automatic Overdraft transfers are $2 for each transaction (no limit to the number of daily charges) with Cooperative. Automatic Overdraft transfers are a $7 charged per day (with unlimited transfers daily) with Nuvision. Nuvision also allows members to link their VISA Credit Cards as Overdraft Protection sources with no fees.

I established an 18-month certificate with Cooperative and it’s expected to mature after June 3rd. Since Nuvision does not offer an 18-month certificate, what will happen to the certificate balance at maturity?  +

We are happy to honor all original terms and rates for certificates that come over.  For the 18-month certificate, the term and rate will remain, but will convert over to a 12-month certificate on June 3rd.  At 18-months, you will have the option to either close the certificate, renew it for a different term, or if no action is taken, it will auto renew for a new 12 months.

What are the limits for mobile deposit?  +

The Mobile Deposit maximum limit is set at $10,000.

What are the transaction limits using Zelle?  +

The monthly limit/rolling 30-day limit for Zelle is $7,500.

Do both credit unions support this partnership?  +

Absolutely! Both Credit Union Boards are very excited about this partnership and the benefits it brings our members and communities.

What is the merger process and timeline?  +

With the member approval process now completed, we will begin integrating the operations of the two credit unions, which is targeted for completion by June 1, 2024. We will keep you updated on our progress in the coming months.

Are both credit unions financially sound?  +

Members can feel very at ease with the financial stability of this merger, as both credit unions are independently successful, strong, and financially sound. We each have net worth ratios that exceed regulatory requirements to qualify as well capitalized, and both have avoided high-risk lending activities.

What will the name of the new organization be?  +

The name of our combined organization will be Nuvision Credit Union.

Will I need to open a new account with Nuvision?  +

We’ve ensured that this is an easy transition for you! You will not need to open a new account. As we integrate our systems, all existing Cooperative Center FCU accounts will automatically be migrated onto Nuvision Credit Union’s system. We will work hard to make the integration as seamless as possible so that you may continue to conduct business as you always have.

Will my member number change?  +

Yes. We will provide you more specific information about your account number when we integrate our credit union systems.

How will I receive information about my new Nuvision member number?  +

You will begin to receive information when we get closer to system integration, which is scheduled for June 2024. As we get closer to this date you will receive a number of communications that will have important information regarding your accounts.

Will my existing accounts still be available as a Nuvision member?  +

Many of the current products that you enjoy at Cooperative Center FCU are also available at Nuvision. You’ll be provided with more information as we combine the two credit unions. Existing certificates and IRA certificates will retain the same rates and maturity dates.

Will Cooperative Center members retain their membership open date?  +

Yes, this information will be transferred to and recognized by Nuvision’s data processing system.

Who will lead the new organization?  +

Nuvision Credit Union CEO Roger Ballard, will remain CEO of the combined organization. The same team from Cooperative Center will continue to serve members at the Martinez and Berkely branches after the merger.

Wil my accounts continue to be insured?  +

Yes! Your accounts will remain safe, sound and federally insured through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, a U.S. Government Agency, just as they are today.

Will I still receive personalized service?  +

Yes, of course! You will absolutely continue to receive the same personalized service you’ve come to expect from us. In fact, we’ll have the resources to offer you even better service. The primary reason for our two credit unions to explore this merger is to better serve our member-owners.

Will the merger affect membership eligibility?  +

No, membership eligibility will not be affected. The combined credit union will continue to serve all of the organizations, companies and sponsors we currently serve. It will also provide credit union membership opportunities to new communities and members that we have been unable to serve in the past.
