Toy & Book Drives Combine with Employee Donations of Over $24,000 Since 2010
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (August 7, 2014) – NuVision Federal Credit Union today announced a series of philanthropic initiatives to support the Children’s Miracle Network benefiting the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).
The credit union’s 14 branches across Los Angeles and Orange Counties recently completed a Toy Drive resulting in two large bins of brand new toys delivered this month to CHLA and CHOC. The toys will help enhance the hospitals’ group and bedside activities, stock their playrooms, and help celebrate special occasions such as holidays and patient birthdays in the hospital.
NuVision also donated books to CHLA in support of their Literally Healing program, which uses books to lift the spirits of patients and their families. The books will augment the hospital’s dedicated therapeutic library of more than 1,000 specially selected books.
For the past five years, NuVision employees and their families have participated in the annual CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland Resort, and NuVision will once again participate in this important event in October 2014. In fact, since 2010 the credit union staff has raised over $24,000 through CHOC Walk and other fundraising activities on behalf of Children’s Miracle Network and CHOC.
“NuVision Federal Credit Union’s philanthropic efforts are centered around the communities we serve, and what better way to help our community than by supporting children and their families in their time of need,” said L.J. Tarman, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at NuVision Federal Credit Union. “Our ongoing support of the Children’s Miracle Network, and of CHLA and CHOC directly, is a vital component of our community outreach that is very close to our hearts here at NuVision.”
