In the Community

NuVision’s Community Service team is committed to getting involved in the areas we serve to support our community and bring NuVision’s goodwill to our local charities and their causes.

LIGHT THE NIGHT

On September 19th, the 10th Annual Light the Night Walk at Angels Stadium raised funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Walk is an annual event to raise funds for cures. It’s the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients and their families. NuVision has raised more than $6,274 for this cause.

NAMI WALKS

On October 4th, NuVision supported the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) by donating yellow NuVision bags which were handed out to approximately 1,000 walkers who gathered at the Huntington Beach Pier. This 4th Annual event, Orange County 5K NAMIWalks for the Minds of America raised more than $128,000 and benefits families who have been affected by mental illness.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Members and employees filled the bins at our branches for the Toys for Tots during November and December. For more than 50 years, the Marines have been collecting toys for under-privileged kids, and NuVision was proud to participate again by being a collection site for unwrapped toys and gifts.

PROJECT LOVE

NuVision has adopted 130 children through Project Love. Project Love has been around since 1963 aiding Navajo and Hopi children from Northern Arizona reservations. Originally a McDonnell Douglas project, Boeing now coordinates this annual event. NuVision employees ‘adopted’ school children and provided gifts from a wish list.

PROJECT SELF-SUFFICIENCY
