NuVision Continues to Support Our Local Community
On October 10th at the Southern California Gas' Super Human Health Fair, NuVision's team of Money Super Heroes helped some employees get financially fit.
At the very early hour of 5:30 am at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA on October 11th, a team of more than 50 NuVision team members and family participated at the 25th Annual CHOC walk. The team walked for approximately two hours on a route that leads through both Disneyland Park and California Adventure.
NuVision employees have raised over $5,200 for the CHOC Walk so far this year, bringing the total amount donated to support Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) to over $25,000 since 2010.
"CHOC Walk is an amazing community event for an even more amazing cause that has become an annual tradition for the employees at NuVision," said Attila Morgan, Manager of Community Involvement and Business Development at NuVision Federal Credit Union. "We are so proud of our employees who volunteer every year to participate and raise much-needed funds for the hospital."
The CHOC Walk stands alone as the largest and most unique single pediatric fundraising event in the country. Since its inception in 1990, the CHOC Walk in the Park has raised over $24 million, with funds supporting education, research, and adoption and utilization of the latest technologies to advance the health and well-being of children. 21 credit unions and nearly 1,200 credit union walkers participated in this year's event.
Toys for Tots
The holiday season means so many opportunities to support those who are less fortunate. NuVision branches are a collection site for Toys for Tots in association with the US Marines. The toys collected are directly distributed by local US Marines to underprivileged children in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Watch for NuVision's commercial on Time Warner Cable supporting Toys for Tots.
