NuVision Federal Credit Union helps kids go Back to School
Employees Donate 94 Backpacks with School Supplies to Youth Shelters in Southern California
NuVision Federal Credit Union today announced that its employees have once again donated backpacks filled with school supplies for disadvantaged children in the community as they head back to school. This year 94 backpacks were delivered to the Huntington Beach Youth Shelter and David & Margaret Youth and Family Services in La Verne. Each backpack was filled with pencils, erasers, binders, notebook paper, crayons, colored pencils, notebooks, pens, folders, a highlighter, and a pencil case.
NuVision has delivered backpacks annually to the Huntington Beach Youth Shelter since 2011. The organization provides shelter, meals, group and family counseling, academic tutoring, life skills development and more to children between the ages of 11 - 17.
David & Margaret Youth and Family Services serves more than 1,000 people annually through a comprehensive range of services, including a residentially-based program for adolescent girls, shelter care for adolescent girls and boys, a foster family agency, adoption assistance, mental health services, treatment for learning disabilities, a transitional living program, school- and community-based education and mentoring programs.
"NuVision Federal Credit Union is pleased to support local organizations that do so much for our communities," said L.J. Tarman, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at NuVision Federal Credit Union. "By helping kids feel better prepared to go back to school, we hope these backpacks and supplies will give them a great start to a successful year."
